LAWRIE X Hard Yakka: A matter of grit.

Demanding excellence requires pushing through when work gets sweaty, hard and dirty. There’s a certain amount of grit required for the job. In setting the bar high, we look beyond suppliers and technicians to those who meet our standards in all ways, including tools and gear. The long hours we put into our builds means we need workwear that keeps up. That’s no small task, but in Hard Yakka, we’ve met our match.

Seeking things that are built to last.

Established back in 1930, Hard Yakka’s mission today is the same as it’s always been: ‘To make gear that’s as hardworking as the individuals who wear it.’

As Sunshine Coast builders our work is synonymous with loud tools, sawdust flying, and unforgiving summer months. While our completed homes are all smooth edges and perfect lines, the reality of getting there is a lot of plain, hard work. And plain, hard work requires clothes that work just as hard.

Hard Yakka workwear has its foundation in understanding the Australian environment and the durability required to last in tough conditions. Like us, they’re driven by the desire to utilise the latest innovations to continue redefining what’s possible. With high-quality fabrics and functional designs, our team works in gear that’s tailor made for our job.

Circularity, an alignment.

At LAWRIE we maintain that longevity and sustainability walk side by side; as we see it, it all comes down to quality. Quality insists upon a relentless commitment to craft and an incessant obsession with detail. With our partners, we look for those with the same values which is one more reason the search for a partner ended with Hard Yakka.

The team behind Hard Yakka takes a four-pillar approach to sustainability, covering sourcing, environment, people and community.

By utilising brands who are actively engaged in constant improvement and alignment with sustainable values, our hope is to continue being part of the change. It feels good knowing that while we do our part to reduce waste we’re simultaneously engaging partners who are working towards the same thing, making Australian worksites more about community and connection with our landscapes than ever before.

A legacy that gets the job done.

Hard Yakka is a brand that was founded in Australia, for Australians, and that’s a legacy we’re proud to support here at LAWRIE. With a team dedicated to the continuous advancement of their products, technology and designs, they’ve maintained their place at the forefront of the workwear industry. And for good reason!

Our on-site team has put their range to the test, and it’s done exactly what we needed it to: provided durable clothing that’s comfortable and practical to wear in all the conditions we navigate as Sunshine Coast award-winning custom home builders.

Hard Yakka clothing is purpose-built by those who understand the resilience required of workwear. Whether we’re sawing or carving, lifting or hammering, we don’t have to worry about the lifespan of our workwear; we know it will endure.

A toast to the new partners on-site.

While a home or a lone garment are seen as singular things, there are many people, places and stories involved in the weaving of threads and the carving of timber that craft the final entity. Each, a strand, a grain that frames and shapes our present while continuing to influence our future.

If you look for our team at a worksite, you’ll see them in Hard Yakka workwear, day in and day out. Our collaboration means we get to carve the path with those who know that every single detail matters. We walk with each tradesmen, artisan and dreamer determined to roll up their sleeves and get dirty, pushing limits and testing boundaries to create and innovate with one goal: to leave our part of the world a little better than we found it.
