Beyond Blueprints: Tracking Milestones of our Architectural Homes

It’s rewarding to come up for air and look in the rear-view in appreciation. With so many great projects – some underway, some getting to know their families as we speak – it’s easy to have pride in one’s work. Let us tell you about the sloping ceilings, the colours, facades and rolling views that have been filling our days.

Lyrebird

This two-story home broke ground a year ago and we’ve made consistent progress since then, placing us on track to hand the keys over to the owners in 2024. The soft, warm palette of Lyrebird features lots of natural wood throughout. The sloping ceilings, paired with floor-to-ceiling wood pillars, supplies plenty of drama to the neutral aesthetic. With large windows throughout, the façade incorporates custom wood screens for shade while still allowing for natural airflow. It’s our first home featuring Xlam Panels, and we’re happy to confirm it’s come together beautifully.

While Lyrebird sits just back from the beach, the backyard still offers a complete oasis for days you want to take a dip at home. Smooth, concrete steps lead down to a large pool and sun area, with neighbouring palms completing the resort-like vision.

Halcón

October had us parting with the keys to Halcón House. We couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out. Halcón was a singular project, even just having the pleasure of working again with our clients from Lorikeet 1 and Seascape.

The curved façade catches our eye every time, with its natural stone and neutral colour palette. It’s ability to distinguish itself without losing the sense of context is something we are particularly proud of.

Inside, a dramatic curved staircase immediately draws attention up towards the unique, circular void, offering a peek into the second floor. The bold design of the spiralling stairway is softened with a natural finish; the wood features throughout add warmth and texture to the whole aesthetic. The living spaces are finished beautifully with floor-to-ceiling windows, drawing you through to a covered, outdoor dining space and the stunning pool beyond.

Photographs of the completed build will be dropping early 2024.

Apricus

Designed by Trevor Reitsma and his team, Apricus makes a bold statement. Set on a slope of near 45°, this home has transformed the sweeping block into an architectural work of art. With a modern black and white front entry boasting strong lines, the finishing touches soften it and make this home a masterpiece. The stairway to the second story sits on the side of the home, adding tangibly to the unique façade, and the second story not only overlooks the pool, but also offers exceptional views of Noosa National Park on one side and the ocean on the other.

As you walk through the centre of the home, it transitions seamlessly into outdoor living, allowing for natural ventilation. Stepping down towards the large pool and looking back, you’ll notice the upper windows feature neutral, light wood screens which soften the bold design. The way this home has been situated means there’s no such thing as bad angles here.

Vesistö

Vesistö broke ground early 2023 at a stunning waterfront location along the Noosa canals. Since then, our team has been hard at work, having to think outside the box to bring this marvel together. Featuring dark, steel beams throughout the home and entertainment area, these massive pillars had to be installed first, with the rest of the home constructed around them. The modern, industrial look is accented by impressive floor to ceiling windows, allowing ample natural light to show off the dark features.

With an overhang that offers protection from the weather, the outdoor area is complete with an integrated outdoor firepit that will sit next to the pool when complete. While the home carries noticeable grandeur, it’s not to be outdone by the stunning views found looking out over the canal. We can’t wait to hand over the keys to this magnificent property in 2024.

In turning over each project, what strikes us is each build presents a unique design; a unique set of challenges. We hold a long-lasting gratitude for the entire team that took these designs and their challenges and met them every time.  There’s lots to be thankful for as we put the tools down for a few weeks to recharge and be with family and friends all so we can start the dream again with fresh eyes.
